Plans have now been finalized for the 21st Annual American Cancer Society Whiteside County Relay For Life event.
All cancer survivors and their caregivers are invited to a free Survivor Dinner, to be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Harvest Time Bible Church, 1802 Dixon Avenue, Rock Falls, IL.
Invitations have been sent. Reservations will be accepted until Thursday, May 26, by calling 815-229-1287, extension 3. Reservations are required to guarantee sufficient food for each guest.
Gary Metivier of KWQC-TV anchors the 5, 6, and 10 o’clock newscasts. He will be the featured speaker. He has been the news anchor for 18 years. Metivier has written numerous books; the latest is “Willie’s Wagon.” It is a touching story that causes children to think of others, instead of only themselves. Willie learns that not everything has to be “boring.” Life is often better experienced when we share our time and talents with others.
The Relay For Life of Whiteside County will be held on Saturday, June 11, at Hinder’s Field at Rock Falls High School, from 5:00 to 11:00 p.m.
Each survivor at the relay will receive the 2016 Survivor Medal and will walk in the first lap at 5:00.
Teams can still be registered by calling 815-229-1287, extension 3.
