Morrison High School Varsity Basketball Coach Tyler Whitebread is offering a “Summer Basketball Camp” for all future Fillies that are of the age of entering second grade through eighth grade. All instruction will take place at Morrison Junior High School, 300 Academic Drive, Morrison, IL. Camp starts Monday, June 6, and runs through Friday, June 10, 2016.
Girls will be under the instruction of Whitebread, Fresh/Soph Coach Kerrie Tenboer, and Junior High Coaches Todd Veltrop, Steve Braasch, and Korby Paul.
- The 2nd through 4th graders will meet from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. They will receive instruction from Coach Whitebread and Coach Tenboer and assistance from current players in the high school program.
- The 5th through 8th grade players will receive instruction from Whitebread and Tenboer with assistance from Coaches Paul, Braasch, and Veltrop. These girls will meet from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
Campers will be introduced to the basic fundamentals of successful basketball. Concentration will be on ball handling, passing, defensive skills, individual offensive skills, and shooting.
A $30 fee includes a t-shirt and instruction for the five day camp. The fee is $50 for two siblings and $70 for three siblings.
Among the many skills required to be a successful basketball player, the most important element is how to have fun while playing the game. Enjoyment of the game will be stressed within camp activities and noticeable in the instruction received by the Coaches and current Fillies.
