Whiteside County pet owners with limited income can now have their pets spayed or neutered at a reduced cost, under a new program provided by Happy Tails Humane Society. Happy Tails is located at 1408 McNeil Road in Rock Falls, IL.
The program is for those who are enrolled in any of several Illinois public assistance programs. Surgeries will be done at Advanced Animal Health Center, 601 W. W. Route 30, in Rock Falls.
- The surgery fees for cats are $45 for neutering and $70 for spaying.
- The fees for dogs are $55 for neutering and $75 for spaying, or $85 for dogs over 50 pounds.
Clients will need to complete an application (which is available at the shelter and on the Happy Tails web site) and provide proof of assistance program enrollment and a photo ID.
Dogs must be current on their rabies vaccination. If a dog needs a rabies vaccination, it will be provided by Advanced Animal Health Center. For more information, contact Happy Tails at 815-626-2994 or happytailsanimalshelter.org.
The Reduced-Cost Spay and Neuter Program is one of several under Happy Tails’ Pets for Life Program. Pets for Life reaches into the community, to provide special help to animals and the people who love them. In addition to reduced-cost spay and neuter, Pets for Life includes a food pantry for those in need, a reduced-cost wellness clinic for limited-income pet owners, and a free pet microchip registry for Whiteside County residents.
Happy Tails Humane Society operates Whiteside County’s only animal shelter. We have been named by the Humane Society of the United States as a model shelter. We are a limited-intake, no-kill facility, that shelters and cares for stray and abandoned animals, until they are adopted into loving, permanent homes. We promote pet adoption and humane education.
Happy Tails is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
