Morrison Varsity Baseball fell to Spring Valley Hall on Friday, May 6, 2016.  The loss moves Joey Brackemyer’s season record to 3-2.

Sangston recorded the win for Spring Valley Hall. He allowed three runs over five innings; struck out five; walked two; surrendered seven hits. Brackemyer was charged with the loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning; walked four; struck out none; allowed three runs.

Hall didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring three runs in the first inning; it scored on a three-run triple by DeAngelo. Hall piled on three more runs in the top of the third, with the big blow coming when Pullam’s double scored DeAngelo and Resetich.  The Morrison hurlers couldn’t slow the Red Devils as they pounded out three singles, a double, and two triples in the fifth inning to add five more runs.  Hall matched its five-run fourth inning with five more in the fifth. This was aided by two hit batsmen, two singles, and another triple to run their total to 15 for the day.

Morrison scored two in the first inning on singles by Ben Tegeler and Ryan VanZuiden mixed with walks to Ethan Fischbach and an error on Justin Rodriguez’s ground ball.  The Mustangs added a third run in the third inning, after Joey Brackemyer singled and advanced by a Justin Jensen single. The Mustangs scored on a VanZuiden double play grounder. The final score was Spring Valley Hall,15  Morrison 3.
