Raymond D. Hook, 83, of 209 S. Grape Street, Morrison, IL, died Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison.
Ray was born March 12, 1933, in Morrison, to Sikka and Gertrude (Newendyke) Hook. He was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and was a 1951 graduate of Morrison High School. He married Darlene C. Tiesman on October 30, 1953, in Fulton, IL. Ray farmed most of his life, and worked for Groharing Construction in Morrison for 28 years. His last place of employment was with the Morrison School District at Southside School, retiring in 1994. Ray was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison. He enjoyed spending time with family and his special lap dog, Mya. His great-grandchildren brought him many smiles and warmed his heart.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene C.; one daughter, Michelle Hook of Morrison; two sons, Steve (Darlene F.) Hook and Kevin (Jonelle) Hook, both of Morrison; four grandchildren, Jackie (Dustin) Damhoff, Jason (Amanda) Hook, Matthew (Brianna) Hook, Jenna (Arian) Landheer; eight great-grandchildren, Sophie, Kaleb, and Ellie Damhoff, Skyler and Oliver Hook, Addison and Charlotte Hook, and Aubrey Landheer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Alvin Hook; two sisters, Dorothy Wiersema and Annette Wiersema.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL
