Rams Need Extra Innings to Top Mustangs

baseballsOn Friday, May 7, 2021, the Morrison Mustangs invited the Riverdale Rams to a rematch on their temporary home at the Clinton Lumberkings field in Clinton, IA.  The scheduled seven rule contest ended with the score tied at five, before the Rams scored four times in the top of the eighth inning.

The Mustangs were unable to match the extra inning production and fell by a 9-5 score.

The Morrison defense was headed from the mound by

  • starter Nate Helms (3 inn., 5 hits, 3 runs)
  • Payton Decker (3.2 inn., 6 hits, 6 runs)
  • Danny Mouw (1 inn., 0 hits, 0 runs.)

Ashton Smith led the offense with a single and a triple; Zach Eads with two singles; 1 one single each by Nate Helms, Brenden Martin, and T. C. Ottens.
