The Whiteside Forum will host guest speaker Dr. Suellen Girard, Morrison Community Unit District #6 Superintendent of Schools, on Thursday, October 25, 2012, in the Program Room of the Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, IL, starting at 6:30 p.m.
Dr. Girard will address the topic “Think Global, Act Local: Education” and explain how we, as a small community and school district, fit into the “big picture.”
In our ever-more-connected world, U. S. students will compete for current–and future–jobs with an ever-more-expanding pool of qualified and English speaking workers. Test evidence shows we are not keeping up.
So, how do we, or should we, prepare our children for this challenge?
All Whiteside Forum events are free and open to the public. Anyone interested is encouraged to attend.
