Deb Wikoff, President of Morrison Charitable Friends Pantry NFP, submitted the article and photos.
“A big ‘Thank you’ to the Postal Food Drive held on, Saturday May 14, 2022. We at Morrison Charitable Food Pantry NFP, are so happy and appreciative for the dedicated [Morrison, IL,] Postal staff and their hard work. They picked up and delivered over 1400 pounds of food to our food bank!”
The annual “Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive” event is conducted by Morrison City Carriers. However, Rural Carriers and volunteers assisted in the pick-up of food. The woman at right is one of them. In the last 30 years, the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive has collected 1.67 billions pounds of food!
Wikoff continued, “We are so grateful that the Morrison community will be able to utilize the food and other items that people were so generous to give. This picture only depicts half of the food given. Thank you so much from the Morrison Charitable Food Pantry crew and people of Morrison.”
