Pons Win First Place at State IDTA Competition

Here are the Morrison High School Pons members on Friday, February 10, 2017, prior to their 1:00 p.m. departure from the high school parking lot.  The girls were headed for their second 2017 State competition on Saturday, February 11.  Shown left-to-right are Sarah Screnock, Allison Hogue, Megan Szabo, Avary Bielema, Dannica Connelly, Kelly Pannier, Carissa Ferry, and Randi Heusinkveld.

During the Illinois Drill Team Association’s Class A Kick category, Morrison followed Wesclin and Marquette, taking the floor at 5:40 p.m.  Morrison girls scored 246.8 points; Wesclin scored 239.8; Marquette scored 227.7.

There is a long history of Pons victories at IDTA competitions.  Kaywyn Beswick stated, “Since 2000, Morrison has gone to IDTA State 18 times and has gotten first place 15 of those times!”
