The Pink Heals Tour caravan will stop at Morrison Community Hospital on Friday, July 29, 2016. Mick Welding submitted the timeline for that day and information about their party, to be held Saturday, July 30, in Rock Falls, IL.
The tour will assemble at the hospital around 9:00 a.m. and then will depart, to drop off pink flowers to three women in the community who are cancer survivors. The tour will return to the hospital around 10:00 or 10:15 to deliver flowers to Shannon Huizenga. If you are a member of “Team Shannon,” please wear your shirt on Friday, July 29, to show support for her.
The tour members will sell some shirts out of their pink fire truck. They encourage anyone from the community who is a cancer survivor to sign their name on the fire truck. That name will be seen by people all over the United States as the vehicles continue to tour.
This year’s tour was not scheduled to come though our community. Their normal route was a bit further south of us. However, they remembered the overwhelming support they received from our community two years ago, so they decided to re-route to our hospital again.
Let’s make them appreciate that decision! Let’s show Shannon how much we love and support her as well!
Rock Falls will include the Pink Heals Tour crew in a free “Cruiz’ in Pink” event July 30, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., along the riverfront. Decorate any vehicle in pink, drive/transport it to the event, fill in a free registration, and become part of the show. There will health care vendors, an apparatus display, and fireworks to end the gathering.
