Renee Schroth came home to an unfortunate situation during the blustery snowstorm on Thursday, December 20, 2012. Even in the dark and with blowing snow, up close it was easy to see the roof damaged by the collapse of an enormous pine. Schroth owns the house at 203 Pine Street, Morrison, IL.
Fortunately, the next morning dawned clear and with no precipitation. The tree was cut into managable pieces, most of which were hauled away. The roof and fascia would require repair.
