Phyllis M. Knight, 85, of Fulton, IL, died Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Harbor Crest Home in Fulton.
Phyllis was born June 29, 1933, in Fulton, to John and Johanna (Stuit) Engelkens. She was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and was a 1951 graduate of Fulton High School. She married Michael C. Knight, Sr. on February 26, 1954, in Fulton. He died December 31, 2003. Phyllis was employed at the Clinton Garment Factory in Clinton, IA, and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Reformed Church, where she participated in King’s Daughters and taught catechism for several years. Phyllis volunteered at the Fulton Thrift Store and served as an election judge for many years. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. She was always available to watch the grandchildren when needed.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan (Gary) Prins of Thomson, IL, and Lori (Kent) Linder of Morrison, IL; two sons, Michael (Patti Beeson) Knight, Jr. of McHenry, IL, and Randy (Barb) Knight of Fulton; eight grandchildren, Adam (Bobbie Jo) Prins, Amber (Jesse) Lesko, Andrew (April) Prins, Ethan Knight, Becca Knight, Amy Knight, Emily Knight, and Hannah Linder; three great-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; one brother, John (Jonnie) Engelkens of Pecatonica, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter-in-law, Peggy Knight; one sister, Jean St. Ores.
Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with Rev. Edie Lenz, Pastor of First Reformed Church in Fulton, IL, officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established to First Reformed Church and Parkinson’s Foundation.
