Phyllis J. Heun, 84, of Fulton, IL, died Monday, March 7, 2022, at MercyOne Clinton, Clinton, IA.
Phyllis was born February 1, 1938, in Clinton to Peter C. and Esther M. (Geerts) Smith. She attended Garden Plain Grade School and graduated from Fulton High School. On May 10, 1957, she married Alvin E. Heun in Fulton. He died May 5, 2018. Phyllis had worked as a bookkeeper at Country Orchids Floral in Fulton, and then co-owned A&P Grain in Albany, IL. She also kept books for Al’s Ag Service for many years. She was a member of the Lions Club and a local stitching group, and she helped with Willing Workers at Second Reformed Church in Fulton. She also played the piano at church for over 25 years. Most recently, Phyllis was attending Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Fulton. She enjoyed cross-stitching, playing the piano, and going out to eat with her friends and the stitching club.
Survivors include her daughter, Kim Wolf of Fulton, IL; sons, Kevin (Susan) Heun of Fulton and Kurt Heun of Lena, IL; five grandchildren, Krista (Sayed) Mohamed, Jacob Wolf, Kayla (Joseph) Nagel, Kourtney Heun, and Kolton Heun; four great-grandchildren, Amelia, Nora, Layla, and Abraham Mohamed; brother, Vernon (Linda) Smith of Clinton; brothers-in-law, Marvin Heun of Morrison, IL, Gene Pessman of Fulton, and Thomas Bailey of Davenport, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin; sister, Margaret Pessman; brother, Robert Smith.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2022, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with Ken Renkes officiating.
A Visitation will precede the funeral service, starting at 9:00 a.m.
Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton, IL.
A memorial to the Albany Ambulance has been established.
