Phylis Venhuizen (1921 – 2015)

phylis venhuizenPhylis A. Venhuizen, 93, of Resthave Home in Morrison, IL, died Friday, August 14, 2015, at Resthave.

Phylis was born October 26, 1921, in Chadwick, IL, to Charles and Flossie (Hiller) Adolph. She was educated at Jefferson School in rural Carroll County, IL. On January 22, 1944, she married William “Whitey” Venhuizen in Morrison. He died September 8, 1998. Phylis was a homemaker. She was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, where she participated in Ladies Aid and the church’s quilting group. She was an avid Cubs Fan.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Lois King of Chadwick, IL, and Mrs. Florence Tripp of Morrison; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Whitey, and one brother, Donald “Bub” Adolph.

FUNERAL SERVICE:  10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

OFFICIATING:  Ken Renkes, Director of Congregational Care at Ebenezer Reformed Church, Morrison, IL

VISITATION:  9:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2015, until the time of the service at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

INTERMENT:  Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL

A memorial to Ebenezer Reformed Church has been established.
