Penelope “Penny” Price, 88 of Albany, IL, died Monday May 27, 2024, at her home.
She was born on November 19, 1935, in Joliet, IL, the daughter of Erwin and Hazel (Johnston) Pierce. She married Gary R. Price on March 20, 1954, in Joliet. Penny had worked as a Teller at First Trust and Savings Bank in Albany and had served a term as Mayor of Village of Albany. She was a member of Albany United Methodist Church. Penny had enjoyed sewing and family time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Gary; sons, Guy (Janet) Price of Albany, Keith (Anne) Price of Morrison, IL, Kevin (Cindy) Price of Savanna, IL, and Randy (Emilie) Price of Clarksville, TN; brother, Dale “Skip” Pierce of Mineola, TX; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Pamela Madden; great-granddaughter, Lyla Litherland; nephew, Mark Madden.
At her request, a private family gathering will take place.
