Peggy Lee Kuehl, 76, of Clinton, IA, formerly of Morrison, IL, died Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Harmony House at Mercy Living Center South in Clinton.
Peggy was born September 12, 1937, in Morrison, to Arthur J. and Leona Irene (Gash) Baxter, Jr. She was educated in the Rock Island, IL, grade schools and was a graduate of Morrison High School in Morrison. Peggy married Raymond E. Kuehl on June 10, 1956, in Morrison. He died May 21, 1997. Peggy farmed with her husband, Ray, in the rural Morrison area, and was also employed by General Electric in Morrison and Drives, Inc. in Fulton, IL. Most recently, she worked as manager at the former Checker Oil in Morrison. Peggy was a member of Morrison United Methodist Church. She enjoyed doing ceramics, crafts, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie (Jake) Zuidema of Savannah, MO, and Vicki Long of Clinton; one son, Steve (Michelle Starns) Kuehl of Morrison; six grandchildren, Ashley Zuidema, Jacob Zuidema, Amanda Burden, Nicole Long, Nathan Long, and Steven Kuehl; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Cathy (Dave) Monteith of Florida; Lauren (John) Tacker of Davenport, IA; Pam Russell of Kansas City, MO; one brother, Mike (Sue) Rousch of Blue Grass, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; one granddaughter, Jessica Kuehl.
