Patricia Mae (Hudders) Vandermyde, 63, of Morrison, IL, died Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Morrison Community Hospital.
Pat was born March 16, 1960, in Geneseo, IL, to Herman P. and Lenora M. (Bentley) Hudders. She graduated from Prophetstown[, IL,] High School in 1978 and later received her Cosmetology license from the Sterling School of Beauty Culture. On November 27, 1981, she married David John Vandermyde at Emmanuel Church. She first worked at the Big Minnie Restaurant in Morrison for several years, then later as a Hairdresser for over 20 years. Pat was a long-time member of Emmanuel Church and served as a Girl Scout Troop leader for four years, when her daughter was a member. Some of her favorite hobbies were crafting, quilting, jigsaw puzzles, and cooking for family and friends. She enjoyed spending time outside gardening, fishing, playing Rolle Bolle, and sunset rides on the side-by-side. She cherished time with friends and loved to travel, especially going on family vacations to Clam Lake in northern Wisconsin and weekend trips to southern Illinois. She also loved having family and friends over to the farm. Pat was extremely generous and kind, and she always thought of others before herself.
Survivors include her husband, David; daughter, Jodi Vandermyde and grandpuppy Ava, of Makanda, IL; son, Benjamin (Ruthanna) Vandermyde of Morrison; sisters, Virginia (Ron) Mickley of Prophetstown and Karen Wiersema of Lyndon, IL; mother-in-law, Doris Vandermyde of Morrison; brothers-in-law, Cal (Kim) Vandermyde, Ron (Darla) Vandermyde, and Stan Vandermyde; 11 nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and -nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Lenora Hudders; sister, Suzie Hudders; brother, Kenny Hudders; brother-in-law, Jim Wiersema; father-in-law, Frank Vandermyde.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 22, 2023 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Morrison.
A Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 21, 2023, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the Visitation.
A memorial has been established to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
