Patricia L. Brandon (1931 – 2013)

patricia abramPatricia Louise Brandon “MomPom” Abram, 82, of Claremont, CA, formerly of Sterling, IL, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013.

Patty was born March 6, 1931, in Tampico, IL, to Genevieve (Ribordy) and Forrest P. Brandon.  She graduated from Catholic Community High School in Sterling, Class of 1949.  She attended Mount St. Clare College and Academy in Clinton, IA.  She married Luther B. Abram in 1954 in Whittier, CA; they divorced in 1979.  She earned her degree in nursing in 1980 and was employed at Methodist Hospital in Arcadia, CA, as a registered nurse from 1979 to 1990.

She is survived by her children, Julie (John) Hiroto, Joan Abram, Jennifer Tennis, Jack (Maria) Abram, Janice (Cliff) Marticorena, and Jeff (Jean) Abram; 11 devoted granddaughters; seven adoring grandsons.  In addition, those who grieve for her loss include her 12 siblings Richard Brandon of Calumet City, IL, David (Frances) Brandon of Rock Falls, IL, Donald (Ann) Brandon of Blue Lake, CA, Margery Brandon of Sterling, Bob (Peggy) Brandon of Morrison, IL, Kathleen Bochum of Lancaster, CA, Larry (Linda) Brandon of Sterling, Jean (Jim) Stuckemeyer of McHenry, IL, Janice (Paul) Falcone of Maryville, MO, Janine Brandon of Woodstock, IL, Marilyn Brandon of Cincinnati, OH, and Angela (Linda) Brandon of Sterling; cousins Marjie Staelens and Rita Bishop, both of Dixon, IL. 

Services were Monday, May 27, 2013, at Rose Hills-Alhambra, 550 E. Main Street, Alhambra, CA 90801.

Interment was at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, CA.
