Editor’s note:  Church member Dianne Behrens supplied the photos and event flyer.

On Palm Sunday, April 13, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., there will begin an extra atmosphere of shared rejoicing inside Our Savior Lutheran Church-LCMS.  The congregation will celebrate its Sesquicentennial Anniversary at 21496 Hazel Road, rural Sterling, IL, 61081.

Pastor Phil Heuser (HOI-zer) invited Guest Speaker Alan Buss to deliver the sermon.  The latter Clergyman is President of the Northern Illinois District of  The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.

Our Savior’s former Pastor, Mike Winkelman of Morrison, IL, will share the service with Buss.  Margi Winkelman will attend with her husband.  Pastor Winkelman served 4.5 years at Our Savior Lutheran Church “right out of seminary, in the mid-70s.  I was there when we celebrated the Centennial!” he commented.

There will be items to examine and books that record the Church history.  Invite family or other members to join this day of joy.

After the service, lunch and cake will be provided.  It is not likely the cake will display 150 candles, but the spirit of this enduring church will be shining brightly.
