Odell Public Library is ringing in the New Year with “Food for Fines.” Now through Saturday, January 30, 2016, Odell will waive the existing fines of any patron who donates a non-perishable, non-expired food or personal hygiene item.
Odell can only waive the fines for Odell materials. Fines accrued from other libraries in the interlibrary loan system do not apply to this offer.
At the end of the month, all items collected will be given to the Morrison Friends Food Pantry.
Feeling guilty about that much-overdue book you found buried under your bed or hidden in the car? Long-overdue or billed materials are also eligible for “Food for Fines” program, as long as items are returned in good condition. Now is the perfect time to clear your conscience and put those items back on the shelves.
Patrons may request “Food for Fines” forgiveness during regular library hours. Donations of items will not be accepted through the drop box. Some restrictions apply. Please check with your library staff for details.
Getting your library account back in good standing is a great way to start the year and an excellent opportunity to help our local food bank. Call Odell at 772-7323 or visit the library on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/OdellLibrary for more information.
