Odell to Host Opioid Overdose Prevention Program

Odell Public Library will host an Opioid Overdose Prevention Program through Sinnissippi Centers.  There will be two identical programs; the first on 9/24 and second on 10/24. Both are free and open to the public. There is a brief article below as well as a flyer I created.

The public is invited to attend a free Opioid Overdose Prevention Program at Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, IL.  This educational program is presented by Overdose Prevention Specialist, Sara Christensen of Sinnissippi Centers and will be offered both Monday, September 24th from 6:30 – 7:30pm and Wednesday, October 24th from 6:30 – 7:30pm. The program aims to reduce the number of prescription drug and opioid-related deaths, by educating the community on the risks, signs, and treatments for opioid misuse. The program may be of particular interest to service providers, members of Law Enforcement, EMS workers, Social Workers, or any families/individuals who have experienced opioid misuse.  It is also open to the general public. Attendees will be provided with a Narcan kit after the presentation. Reservations are requested, though not required, by calling Odell at 815-772-7323.
