BookSaleBannerOdell Public Library and the Odell Public Library Friends’ group are preparing for the annual Book and Bake Sale.  The event will be held Saturday, November 2, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in the City of Morrison Community Room, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, IL.  Odell will be accepting donations of gently-used books until Tuesday, October 29.

Please share with Odell those books that have been read and are no longer wanted.  Search the shelves in your homes.  Your discarded book may become someone else’s favorite read.  Ask your children to clean out their outgrown books.

Proceeds from the resale of these books will enable new books for both adults and children to be purchased.

All genres are needed:  westerns, mysteries, romance, espionage, sci-fi, biography, history, travel, religion, gardening, health, and cooking.  Children’s books, such as storybooks and pre-readers, are sought.  Books suitable for all elementary ages plus pre-teens are also needed.  Books may be hardcover or paperback.

Odell Public Library asks that no magazines, encyclopedias, textbooks, or moldy or dirty books be brought to the library.  These books cause a hardship for the library, because they must be disposed of and recycled.

Odell’s Book and Bake Sale is the library’s biggest fundraiser.  Put the date on the calendar, Saturday, November 2, and come shop.  Bring a bag or box to carry home your new reading material.

During the two weeks following the Book Sale, leftover books will be moved into the library for further sales.
