Spring has sprung at Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, IL. There are flowerpots of all colors, designs, and patterns on display. Will they be part of a garden, or as a piece of décor on a porch? There are lovely stand-alone containers for a desk or kitchen counter, too. Each is waiting to be taken home by the highest bidder.
The Friends of Odell Public Library hope all gardeners and lovers of flowers and greens will visit the library to view the wide variety of flowerpots created by community members. The flowerpots are a fundraiser to help replace five old and out-of-date computers.
Decorative pots will be sold in a silent auction. Each bidder must register at the Librarian’s desk for a number and then use that number to bid on the flowerpots. Every flowerpot will have a sheet of paper in front of it. Registered bidders must write their number on the sheet and the amount of money they wish to bid. Be sure to check those sheets often, bidders, as new people come in and raise the bid.
The silent auction will continue until Saturday, April 30, 2016. At that time, the highest bidder will own a unique flowerpot. High bidders will be notified on Monday, May 2. Monies will be collected when the flowerpot is picked up.
Friends of Odell Public Library thank all those who created an original flowerpot and all the interested community members who bid on a chance to own an innovative pot.
