Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, IL, will celebrate Family Reading Night on Thursday, November 16, 2017, with a variety of family-friendly crafts and activities. Families are invited to drop by the library from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., to read together, take fun family photos, design a picture frame, and build with LEGO’s.

Participating families will earn a “Fine Forgiveness” coupon worth up to $10 in late fees. At 7:00 the library staff will present a special Thanksgiving-themed storytime with a craft to follow. Kids are invited to attend in their pajamas.

Family Reading Night is an annual Statewide event. It is also a great time to spend time reading aloud with someone you love. One of the most important things parents can do for their children is to read with them. Reading aloud prepares them to become better readers, builds vocabulary, and fosters a life-long love of learning. Reading teaches as much as it entertains.

It is never too early to start reading to your child, and children are never too old to be read to. Come enjoy a cozy evening at Odell, and celebrate the magic of reading with your family.
