In accordance to Public Law 107-51, the American flag should be lowered to half-staff on Sunday, October 6, 2019, from sunrise to sunset. This half-staff tribute is in observance of National Fallen Firefighters Memorial. Since last year’s memorial, 119 firefighters lost their lives. Regrettably, this is one of the most overlooked half-staff memorials, probably due to being held on a Sunday. Please make a strong effort to comply with this important event honoring our firefighters.
