Charges listed below are accusations, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
On 10/4/15 at about 11:16 a.m., Whiteside County Deputies responded to 21602 Lincoln Road, IL Route 30, rural Sterling, IL, on the report of a vehicle crashing into a building.
Investigation revealed a 2009 Ford Edge, driven by Zachary T. Vandervort, 18, of Dixon, IL, was traveling eastbound on Route 30, when he crossed into the westbound lane and entered the north ditch. He continued eastbound and collided with a building, striking numerous motorcycles and ATV’s inside, before coming to rest.
Vandervort was transported to MCH by Morrison ambulance, where he was treated and subsequently released for his injuries.
Vandervort was issued a citation for improper lane usage. The crash remains under investigation.
Deputies were assisted by the Sterling and Rock Falls Fire Departments and Slim-N-Hank’s Towing.
