October 4 Morrison Police Report

Morrison Chief of Police Brian Melton reports the following Arrests made and Citations issued since Friday, October 4, 2019.

Arrests:  On Saturday, October 5, 2019, at approximately 5:13 a.m., Morrison Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by James A. Haas, age 33 of Mt. Carroll, IL, for a moving violation.  As a result of the investigation during the traffic stop, Morrison Police arrested and charged Haas with Speeding and Driving Under the Influence (Alcohol.)  Haas was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

On Sunday, October 6, 2019, at approximately 8:55 p.m., Morrison Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Richard D. Rausch, age 48 of Clinton, IA, for a moving violation.  As a result of the investigation during the traffic stop, Morrison Police issued a citation for Speeding to Rausch.  A passenger, Christopher T. Cain, age 23 of Walnut, IL, was arrested pursuant to an Arrest Warrant, issued by Rock Island County, charging Cain with Failure to Appear-Reduce Speed.  Cain was also issued an Ordinance citation for Possession of Cannabis (< 5 grams.)  Cain was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

On Sunday, October 6, 2019, at approximately 3:49 a.m., Morrison Police responded to 610 Portland Avenue, Apartment D2, Morrison, IL, after meeting with the victim of a Domestic Dispute at the Morrison Community Hospital.  As a result of the investigation into the incident, Morrison Police arrested and charged Cody D. Griswold, age 29 of Galesburg, IL, with Unlawful Restraint, Domestic Battery, Criminal Trespass to Real Property, and Resisting a Peace Officer.  Griswold was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.  Morrison Police were assisted by the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office.

On Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at approximately 2:03 p.m., Morrison Police responded to 601 E.Lincolnway, Apartment 2S, Morrison, IL, regarding a domestic dispute.  As a result of the investigation, Morrison Police arrested and charged Quran N. Jackson, age 21 of Morrison, with Domestic Battery.  Jackson was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

On Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at approximately 8:11 p.m., Morrison Police received a complaint of two individuals “smoking marijuana” in a vehicle outside the residence at 509 S. Madison Street, Morrison, IL.  As a result of the investigation into this complaint, Morrison Police issued Ordinance citations to Sara E. Mendez, age 18 of Morrison, and Triston M. James, age 18 of Morrison, for Possession of Cannabis (< 5 grams.)
