On Saturday, October 26, 2019, at 1:57 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies responded to a single-vehicle traffic crash, on Albany Road near Burns Road in rural Erie, IL. A 17-year-old male driver from Erie was northbound on Albany Road, when the driver left the roadway and over-corrected, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. It rolled several times before finally coming to rest in the east ditch of Albany Road, just south of Burns Road. The driver had to be extracted from the vehicle by Erie Fire and Ambulance, and was transported to Illini Hospital with serious injuries.
