Harvey Wiebenga, 81, of Fulton, IL, died Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL.
Harvey was born August 28, 1939, in Fulton, to Richard “Dick” and Winnie (Balk) Wiebenga. He was educated in the Excelsior Christian Grade School in Fulton and was a 1957 graduate of Fulton High School. He later graduated from DMACC, Des Moines Area Community College, in Des Moines, IA. He married Joan Meurs, and they later were divorced. He then married F. Darlene Martin on May 17, 2003, in Fulton. She died February 9, 2007. Harvey started as a milk Delivery Man for Elmwood Dairy and was later employed as an Electrolux salesman for many years. He was also a Nursing Home Administrator in Rock Falls, IL. Harvey was a former member of First Christian Reformed Church and Second Reformed Church in Fulton and was a current member of Community Reformed Church, Clinton, IA. Harvey enjoyed playing cards with his friends and could play any card game you could think of. He was also an avid reader.
Survivors include two sons, Dalbert (Bette) Wiebenga of Morrison, IL, and Dean (Jennifer) Wiebenga of West Dundee, IL; five grandchildren, Steven (Sarah) Wiebenga and Kevin Wiebenga, Gwyneth, Nolan, and Gage Wiebenga; many step-grandchildren, including Joshua and Maggie Wiik; three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Martin-Wiebenga; daughter, Darla Wiebenga; sisters, Sylvia Vegter, Rena Wiebenga, and Anna Mae Mitchell; brothers, George and Clarence Wiebenga and one in infancy.
His Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with Rev. Scott Stephan, Pastor of CrossView Church in Fulton, IL, officiating.
A Visitation will precede the service, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral.
Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton, IL.
