DaVinciCodeLovers of a multi-layered mystery film are invited to Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, IL, on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, to view “The Da Vinci Code,” starring Tom Hanks.  The movie begins at 2:00 p.m. in the Program Room.  There is no charge, although donations are most welcome.  Popcorn and a cold drink are served with the movie.

“The Da Vinci Code” was a huge best seller, with over four million books sold, and was then made into a suspenseful film.  Those who enjoyed the novel will be gratified to know, the film is true to the book with all its dangerous twists and turns.  Hanks, in the lead role, seeks crucial answers to an unknown, longstanding mystery.

Robert Langdon, (Tom Hanks), is a Harvard Symbologist in Paris, France, for a lecture when he is informed of the murder of a museum curator inside the Louvre.  Before this man died, he concealed a safe deposit key, covered his naked body in symbols, and posed his body in an iconic design by Leonardo Da Vinci!  While in the Louvre, Sophie Neveu, a French Policewoman, arrives and tells Robert he is in great danger.  Langdon has no choice but to elude the Police with her.

Together they elude capture and set off on a quest that leads them into the French countryside; London; the countryside of Britain; a hidden crypt.  Unknown to Langdon and Sophie, a mysterious figure at the center of the mystery is a member of Opus Dei, a secret group of Cardinals.  Their sole purpose is to preserve an astonishing secret that could change the world.

The inventive and daring twosome have no idea about the mystery, its depth, and the danger they face.

The various settings are as compelling as the intriguing plot.  Prepare for a surprise ending!
