Not Pretty, But a Win

The Morrison High School Fillies invited a non-Conference foe from Mendota, IL, to Morrison Sports Complex on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, and recorded a win by the score of 12 -10.  The winds were strong, and the temperatures were recorded in the low 40s, as the Lady Trojans and Morrison Fillies took the field.

The pitching trio of Marissa Folkers (3-inn/ 1-hit), Kaylee Pruis (3-inn/ 3-hits), and Bella Duncan (1-inn/ 0 hits/ 3 Ks) controlled the Lady Trojans. The defense struggled by committing seven errors, that allowed the contest to remain close.

The Fillies’ bats were active. Eight batters recorded RBIs against the Trojan hurlers: Kiyah Wolber (3 for 4/ 2-RBIs); Kaylee Pruis  (2 for 4/ 3-RBIs/1-triple); Madi Armitage (1 for 1/ 1-HR); Bella Duncan (2 for 4/ 1-RBI/ 1-double); Arianna Frederick (1 for 1/ 1-RBI); Jordan Eades (2 for 3/ 1-RBI); Bayleigh  Brewer (1 for 2/ 1- RBI); Kiyah Wolber (3 for 4/ 1-RBI/ 1-double); Allie Anderson (2 for 3/ 1-RBI.)

The Filly’s season record expanded to 5 wins against 3 losses.

MENDOTA:  0 – 1 – 3 – 1 – 2 – 3 – 0 = 10

MORRISON: 0 – 1 – 1 – 4 – 3 – 3  – –  = 12
