Northside Elementary Life$avings Blood Drive January 7

MissValleyLogoNorthside Elementary School will host a blood drive on Monday, January 7, 2019, from 3:00 to 6:15 p.m.  The drive will be held in the school cafeteria, 520 N. Genesee Street, Morrison, IL.

The blood drive is open to the public, and is part of the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center’s Life$avings program.  The program provides a monetary grant to benefit Northside students, if at least 20 donors successfully donate blood.

To donate, please contact Denise Batterton at 815-772-2153 extension 5214 or visit www.bloodcenterimpact.org and use code 1515 to locate the drive.

Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 with a parental permission form available through www.bloodcenter.org) and weigh more than 110 pounds.  A photo I.D. is required.  For questions about eligibility, please call the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center at 800-747-5401.  Donors who last gave blood on or before November 12, 2018, are eligible to give at this drive.

About Blood Donation: Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour.  Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure may be accepted as eligible donors.

ABOUT MVRBC:  Locally, Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is the sole provider of blood and blood components for patients at Morrison Community Hospital, as well as hospitals in Clinton, IA, Geneseo, IL, the Quad Cities, and beyond.
