Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois (GSNI) received a generous $1800 sponsorship from the Center for Financial Literacy, at North Central College on May 5, 2021. Funds are being used to empower local Girl Scouts in virtual entrepreneurship experiences. This includes providing activity-based resources to support earning entrepreneurship and business-related badges, along with resource kits, a financial calculator, activity-based materials, and a unique entrepreneurship patch.
The sponsorship supported two, spring and summer virtual entrepreneurship sessions–a spring program for Girl Scouts in grades Kindergarten–3 and a summer program for Girl Scouts in grades 4-8.
On Tuesday, October 26, GSNI will host a special, virtual conversation with women entrepreneurs and Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors (members in grades 9–12.) Entrepreneurs scheduled to appear are:
Gina Meeks: Content Management Senior Coordinator of Zonta International; Owner/Artist, Imaginative Printables
Echelle Mohn: Founder/Independent Consultant, FIT Future Innovative Technologies, Independent Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay Global, Director of Technology, SD132, Calumet Park

Backed by trusted adult volunteers, mentors, and millions of alums, Girl Scouts lead the way as they find their voices and make changes that affect the issues most important to them.
