Norma F. Hammelman, 85 of Sterling, IL, died Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at Rock River Hospice and Home after a short illness.
She was born on February 13, 1936, the daughter of Edward and Faye (Kirby) Tucker. She married Lowell Rhodes on December 22, 1950. He died in 1953. She married George H. Dissinger of April 9, 1955. He died. She later married Gene Hammelman on November 15, 1987. He died in 2013. Norma had worked at General Electric in Morrison, IL, Mode-O-Day Clothing Store, and Muffins and More. She was an active member of 1st United Methodist Church in Sterling. Norma enjoyed quilting, sewing, and shopping.
Survivors include daughters, Elizabeth Susy (Larry) Bellini of Sterling and Wendy (Garry) Scott of Lyndon, IL; son, James (Judy) Dissinger of Morrison; step-daughter, Rhonda (Roger) Tepen of Rock Falls, IL; stepsons, Randy (Mary) Hammelman of Rock Falls, John (Paula) Hammelman of Alaska, and Maurice (Mary) Rhodes of Sterling; sister, Barbara (Denny) Reiley of Sterling; sister-in-law, Pat Olson of Morrison; brother-in-law, Lyle (Linda) Hammelman; six grandchildren, Brent (Stacy LaMarche) Bellini, Bryan (Kadee) Bellini, Jason (Jessica) Scott, Aaron, Drew, and Macey Dissinger; six great-grandchildren, Preston, Marley, Drake, Quinton, Madison, and McKinzey; one great-great-granddaughter, Everly Scott; 11 Hammelman grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; two brothers; two sisters; one brother-in-law; two step-sons.
Masks and social distancing requirements will be required for a Public Visitation, to be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue in Sterling, IL.
Private Family Services will be held and burial at Maple Ridge Cemetery, Sterling, IL.
Memorials may be made in her memory to 1st United Methodist Church, Sterling, IL.
