City Administrator Barry Dykhuizen offered this information regarding the effective date of the Morrison, IL, 1% City Sales Tax.
“The 1% sales tax goes into effect Wednesday, July 1, 2015, not Thursday, January 1.”
In addition, “The City’s understanding is that the Illinois Department of Revenue notifies retailers of the change.”
