No Parking Due to Seal Coating

Gary M. Tresenriter, City of Morrison Director of Public Works, announced upcoming street repairs.

“Weather permitting, on Wednesday, August 27, and Thursday, August 28, 2014, the City of Morrison will be seal coating the following streets.  In-order to accomplish this, we ask residents to not park on these streets starting Tuesday night, August 26, until Thursday evening, August 28.”

  • Park Street from Route 78 to Oak Street
  • Knox Street from N. Orange to N. Jackson
  • N. Genesee from Route 30 to W. High Street.

As a courtesy reminder of the temporary no parking, No Parking signs will be placed along these streets Tuesday afternoon.

Tresenriter explained, “Oil and chip, also known as Bituminous Seal Coat or Chip Seal, covers an existing road with a layer of oil and stone that seals blacktop. It provides a wearable surface at a fraction of the cost of resurfacing. This option is an effective way to seal cracks and helps to prevent new cracks and potholes.”

“If you have any questions please call me at City Hall 815-772-7657.”
