Nine Colts Wrestlers Qualify for Sectionals

wrestling shoesMorrison Junior High Colts qualified nine wrestlers to the Sectional Tournament, with three others finishing as alternates.  The event took place in Erie, IL, on Saturday, February 23, 2019.

Jaden Hamilton, Donny Reavy, and Cameron McDonnell lead the way, bringing home first place titles in their individual weight classes.

Levi Milder and Camden Pruis also made the finals, but fell short of a title, finishing in second place.

Seven Colts battled back to the third place match.  Zach Milder, Evan McDonnell, and Will Meier wasted little time pinning their opponents in the final round.

Meanwhile, Brady Anderson had to come from behind a couple of early take downs, before he regained control of the match and pinned his way to third place.

Three other Colts made their way to the qualifying match but fell just short.  Logan Baker, Luke Carpenter, and Keegan Strobbe finished their tournament in fourth place.

Qualifying to Sectionals by weight class are:

70 – Jaden Hamilton 1st, Levi Milder 2nd
80 – Camden Pruis 2nd, Zach Milder 3rd
85 – Brady Anderson 3rd
90 – Donny Reavy 1st, Keegan Strobbe 4th (alternate)
126 – Logan Baker 4th (alternate)
145 – Luke Carpenter 4th (alternate)
185 – Cameron McDonnell 1st
215 – Evan McDonnell 3rd
275 – Will Meier 3rd.
