Effective signage is critical to any business which deals with public foot traffic. If your “customer” is experiencing a possible health crisis, signage must lead people to your doors with immediacy. Such was the concern that led Morrison Community Hospital to order this new attention-getter from “Compliance Signs” in Chadwick, IL. It was installed Wednesday, March 22, 2017, by MCH Maintenance staff Randy Foster and Todd Workman. On Friday, March 25, they will remove the brackets for cementing the posts. In warmer months, landscaping will decorate the installation.
Marketing Director Mick Welding explained, “Some people noted that patients say it is difficult to find the hospital on top of the [N. Jackson Street] hill. We decided to get a sign to emphasize ‘We’re here.’ We are attracting more and more people from outside the area now, with our special services. It is important to improve visibility” for those patients and locals.
The sign indicates people can access the new location of the Family Care Clinic from the hilltop’s main entrance. Solar operated lights will assist in the darkness.
Welding said the project used area merchants. Wood came from Frary Lumber & Supply; cement was purchased at Morrison True Value Hardware.
