As they often do, the Morrison, IL, American Legion Honor Guard performed a tribute at the funeral of a departed veteran at Grove Hill Cemetery. On Thursday, December 3, 2015, Morrison, IL, resident George E. Dykhuizen, Jr. was laid to rest with military honors. Dykhuizen served with the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
The Honor Guard wore new winter hats for the occasion, as shown by Bob Atherton.
Legion member Jerry Brearton stated, “We periodically get donations from the estates [of veterans] and would like to show that we do appreciate it. Most recently [we] have put it to good use for future funeral honors.”
