Mayor Scott Vandermyde announced two in-house position changes of City employees.
“I am pleased to announce that at the regular meeting of Morrison City Council, on [Monday,] September 26, 2022, it was approved to name Brian Melton as City Administrator, effective October 1. 2022.
“Brian Melton has a distinguished career in local Law Enforcement, having most recently served as Chief of Police in Morrison, from February 1, 2009. He took on the additional duties of Acting City Administrator from August 1, 2022, and was able to effectively ‘wear both hats’ for the past two months. We are excited to welcome Brian into his new permanent role.
“Also effective October 1, 2022, Sergeant Kevin Soenksen is named Acting Chief of Police, while we immediately begin the search for a permanent replacement Chief.
“Congratulations to both Brian [top photo] and Kevin. Thanks to City residents and employees, who supported us during the transition and search.”
