Nancy L. Schmidt, age 70, of Milledgeville, IL, died Friday, September 2, 2022, at Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling, IL.
Nancy was born April 19, 1952, in Sterling, the daughter of George and Hilda (Mackenbach) Hines. She married Michael Schmidt on June 14, 1969, in Paw Paw, IL. Nancy was employed at the Polo Continental Manor for eight years and at Wahl Clipper for 27 years, retiring in 2014. She volunteered at the Milledgeville Food Pantry, was a member of the Mother’s Club for many years, bowled on different bowling leagues, and enjoyed reading, sewing, traveling with her husband, and collecting antique toys. Nancy loved her dog, Sassy.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Schmidt of Milledgeville; children, Bonnie (Steve) Johnson of Sugar Grove, IL, Jason (Jamie) Schmidt of Dixon, IL, and Brandon (Jacob) Schmidt of Morrison, IL; sister, Cindy (Bill) Nicholson of Oregon, IL; nine grandchildren, Matt (Chrissi), Samantha, Allison, Courtney, Harrison, Colton, Isabelle, Jaycie, and Jersey; great-granddaughter, Abigail; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Linda Pitts.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at McDonald Funeral Home, 520 Holcomb Avenue, in Milledgeville, IL.
The Funeral will be Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., at Milledgeville United Methodist Church, Milledgeville, IL.
Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery in Milledgeville, Illinois.
Memorials have been established to the Carroll County Animal Shelter/Control and to Rock River Hospice and Home.
