Nancy C. Glazier, 82, of Morrison, IL, died Saturday, September 17, 2022, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL.
Nancy was born June 2, 1940, in Morrison to Louis and Helen (Curtis) Shambaugh. She was a 1958 graduate of Morrison High School. On June 6, 1958, she married Richard L. Glazier in Morrison. He passed away on May 17, 2021. Nancy first worked at GE in Morrison. She then worked for the Morrison Hospital for 35 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Morrison, where she served as a Deacon. She was a member of Morrison Hospital Auxiliary, and, for many years, she and her husband, Rich, were members of the former Morrison Country Club. They also enjoyed country line dancing together. Nancy enjoyed cross-stitch embroidery, golfing, attending her son’s football games, and her grandchildren’s events. After her husband’s death she became quite active with preparing and assisting with the church’s community meals. She also enjoyed playing cards and dominoes every Wednesday evening. Nancy especially relished her interactions with the neighborhood children and her special friend, Augustus Maddie.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol (Stephen) Wolf of Morrison; son, Robert (Linda) Glazier of Ogden, IL; four grandchildren, Cassie and Jessica Glazier, Collin and Erica Wolf; sister, Sally (Arlyn) Hayen of Menominee, WI.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, September 23, 2022, at First Presbyterian Church in Morrison, IL, officiated by Rev. Dr. Michael Selburg
A Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2022, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
A memorial to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has been established.
