Mustangs Win Without a Hit

To quote Coach Sondgeroth..”It was a crazy game!” 

The Morrison Mustangs traveled to Fulton and came home with a nine inning victory and never collected a single hit.

Fulton starter, Ethan Jones, threw a no-hitter into the ninth inning. Mustang Alex Volckmann was hit by a pitch from reliever Seth Sanderson, stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch.  Volckmann then scored an another wild pitch to give the Mustangs a one run lead entering the bottom of the ninth inning.

The Steamers mounted a rally in the ninth and the game ended when Steamer’s Austin Mannon tried to score on a passed ball and was thrown out by catcher Triston Houzenga to pitcher Joey Brackemyer for the final out of the extended game. Final score..Morrison 1  Fulton 0

The Morrison pitchers were dominating as well as starter Connor Duncan only allowed one hit over five innings and Joey Brackemyer gave up only one hit during his three innings of relief. The pitcher’s dual saw twelve Mustangs strikeout while the Steamers went down thirteen times on strikes.
