The Ice Bucket Challenge has been spreading like a wild fire through social media in the summer of 2014. The purpose is to raise not only awareness of, but monetary support for, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), most popularly known as “Lou Gehrig’s disease.”
DHCU Community Credit Union not only donated $1000 to ALS research, they also challenged each local High School Football Team in a 50-mile radius of any DHCU location to participate. DHCU will be donating $100 for each local football team that takes part in the challenge and will donate $100 back to each team.
The 2014 Mustangs went on to challenge the rest of the Morrison Athletic teams, as well as all other football teams in the Big Rivers Conference. Fall sports team include Golf, Swimming, Volleyball, Cheerleading, Pons, and Girls Swimming.
