Morrison Varsity Baseball jumped to an early lead on Orion, IL, and captured an 11-3 victory on Tuesday, March 31, 2015.
The game was decided quickly, as Morrison exerted its will early with 11 runs in the first three innings. Click here to see the scoreboard.
Morrison improves to 5-1 on the year and is 2-1 in the TRAC West.
An RBI single by Ben Tegeler and a two-run double by Justin Jensen occurred during the first inning. A two-run single by Andy Bird, an RBI single by Jensen, an RBI single by Mason Sitzmore, and an RBI single by Ryan VanZuiden in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Mustangs.
Jensen racked up four RBI’s on three hits for Morrison.
VanZuiden got the win for the Mustangs. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out 11, walked two, and surrendered six hits.
Lundburg couldn’t get it done on the hill for Orion, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in three innings, walked one, and struck out four.
