Joey Brackemyer‘s walk-off fielder’s choice, off of Ballard, boosted the Mustangs to a win. Brackemyer racked up two RBI’s on one hit. He singled in the third inning.
Mason Sitzmore gets the win in relief to improve to 3-1 on the season. Sitzmore pitched “lights out” for the Mustangs. Fulton managed just one hit off Sitzmore, who allowed no earned runs, walked none, and struck out one during his four innings of relief work.
Ballard took the loss for Fulton. He lasted 8 1/3 innings, walked four, struck out seven, and allowed five runs.
The Mustangs jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third. The Varsity attack began with a single from Ryan VanZuiden, then moved VanZuiden from second to third. Brackemyer singled, bringing home VanZuiden.
