The Morrison Mustangs recorded their third seasonal and third Conference win behind a complete game, on Monday, April 11, 2016, at Morrison Sports Complex. It was a six-hit, 11-strikeout shutout by MHS Senior Joey Brackemyer, ending 4-0.
Cody Southern went 2-3, driving in two runs with a double in the third, and recorded a single in the sixth to drive in the third run of the game. Brackemyer pitched seven innings and allowed no earned runs on six hits. Earl took the loss for Sherrard. He lasted five innings, walked one, struck out eight, and allowed two runs.
Morrison went up for good in the third, scoring two runs on an RBI double by Southern and an error. Morrison built upon its lead with two runs in the sixth, when an error scored Merik Kennedy, to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed by Southern’s single, scoring courtesy runner Tate Renkes.
