The Oregon Thanksgiving Tournament offered the Mustangs an opportunity to play outside the TRAV conference and see different competition. For the second night this week the competition was new to Morrison in the name of Rockford Christian Life. The Eagles play in the NE Athletic conference and the Mustangs were up to the challenge and brought home a 63-53 victory.
The Mustangs came out of the blocks and scored twenty-seven points the first quarter and stretched the first quarter seventeen point lead to a twenty-five point advantage by half on the scoring of Mason Sitzmore and the inside play of Scott Ferry, Bill Lee Gruel and Hunter Hamstra.
The Eagles didn’t fly away, instead they rode the three-point shooting of Niko Sanchez (8 3-pointers) and scratched back, but the Morrison advantage was too much to overtake and the Mustangs recorded their first win of the young season.
