Mr. Weather kept the Morrison Mustangs indoors for an extra two weeks, but when they finally took the diamond, the offense eliminated the Oregon Hawks in a five inning game on Wednesday, April 3, 2013.
The Mustangs jumped on the Hawks for big innings in each of the first three innings scoring five in the first inning, five in the second and three in the third inning and demoralized the visitors in a 14-2 thumping.
Coach Sondgeroth used four pitchers, Bill Lee Greul, Connor Duncan, Alex Fischbach, and freshman Joey Brackemyer in an attempt to give as many pitchers as possible a chance to throw to an opponent.
The offense pounded out fourteen hits with extra base hits being garnered by Greul (triple), and doubles by Alex Volckmann, Mason Sitzmore, Brock Deter and Andrew Connelly.
