Morrison Historical Society will honor the late Margy Haines during one of two programs on Sunday, May 18, 2014. Haines left numerous organizations and institutions a portion of her estate. The Board of Trustees will share with the public how Morrison’s Heritage Museum, 202 E. Linconway, Morrison, IL, benefited from her benevolence.
Additionally, Allan Ver Beke returns with a new program, showcasing his coin collection. Visitors will remember his impressive collections of arrowheads and marbles.
This coin–not one of his–is a dime minted in 1797. It features a draped bust, heraldic eagle.
Ver Beke will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Hearth Room. He will conclude with a collection donation to the museum. Come see what that will be.
Morrison’s Heritage Museum is accessible to all with a ramp at the rear of the building. There is never a charge for programs by Morrison Historical Society. Refreshments will follow the programs.
